Eyes Upon The Cross

In a room alone and scared to death
She sits and weeps, she's out of breath
She never thought it would be this way
She stares right through her vast dismay

But on that day so long ago
It was her soul that was set aglow
The Lord, He called and this she heard,
"Let me help you see, you're vision's blurred."

It was that day that she was rescued;
Born again, forgiven, renewed.
And everything that weighed down on her
Was washed away, replaced with splendor.

Many years have passed since then
And the problem, it has to crept back in,
But this time everything's transposed
Upon her son it's been imposed.

So through her, God, He worked His will
And upon her son her faith He instilled.
And now that boy who seemed so lost
Has set his eyes upon the cross.
